Interestingly, the category that recognizes the impressive artistry of our ever tireless and hardworking (African) acts, records the names of comeback nominees, Sarkodie and Wizkid with new additions, Yemi Alade, Fally Ipupa, AKA, Sauti Sol, Stonebwoy and The Soil to snag it out for the coveted “Best International Act: Africa“ category. I’m obviously not the only one who’s noticed that Davido who was a constance at most of 2014’s awards happens to have been snubbed this year. Footballer Emmanuel Adebayor's sister fires back at him,says the family is done with him

Three days ago, footballer Emmanuel Adebayor put his estranged family on blast by revealing how much he'd done for them and how ungrateful he felt they were. He took to his Facebook page yesterday to share a pic of his brother Rotimi (pictured with him above) and said the part 2 of his brother's story will be revealed soon. That's when his sister Lucia Adebayor decided to respond. She called him a liar and said the family was done with him. What she wrote below...

Turns out 30 years ago, when he was a 27-year old Commissioner in the old Cross River State, Sen Victor had his first handshake with Gen Buhari who was then the Head of State. Now, Gen. Buhari is President Elect and himself, Leader of the Senate.

Miley Cyrus launches foundation to support gay community and the less privilage

Singer Miley Cyrus just launched the Happy Hippie Foundation to homeless, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) youths.

She announced the official launch of her new foundation on Tuesday, May 5 which is a nonprofit organization devoted to helping homeless youth, LGBT youth, and other vulnerable populations.

"The position I'm in, I feel like I've got a lot of power," she said in a phone interview with the Associated Press on Monday.

"But so many kids don't feel that way. They're under their parents' rule. When you have all eyes on you, what are you saying? And that's what I had to ask myself a lot. It's like, I know you're going to look at me more if my (breasts) are out, so look at me. And then I'm going to tell you about my foundation for an hour and totally hustle you."

Miley said that she chose to focus on homeless youths because it's something that nobody talks about."It's something that everyone sees," she said. "It's like the birds chirping. We're consciously ignoring it at all times, but it's always happening right in front of us."

She confessed she gained inspiration from the homeless man she famously had accept her video of the year award at the MTV Video Music Awards last August and was also moved by the suicide of transgender teen Leelah Alcorn in December

Singer Yemi Alade Honors Her Late Dad With A New Hairstyle

Yemi Alade has opened up on how she misses her late father and has taken to connecting with him through her hair.She lost her Dad, on January 16, with the funeral planned for tomorrow (May 7) and the day after (May 8). Her dad was an officer in the Nigeria Police Force.

The singer who is deeply affected by his passing, shared a picture of her new hairstyle, and likened it to her late father’s official beret.

She drew the comparisons with the touching caption: “Today i wear my hair like MY DAD’S BERET ..#tillWeMeetAgain Dunno wat to expect tomorrow …but u will forever b in my heart and God my comfort.”

Earlier on January 18 2015, the singer had shared a photo of her Dad with the caption: “God bless. Heaven has gained an Angel of inestimable value” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

Suspected Cult Clash In Calabar, Two Killed

Two unidentified boys were allegedly killed on Monday evening when rival cult members engaged in a supremacy war at Iboku near the popular Ambo Street in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, said the two died as a result of gun shots when policemen drafted to the area, arrived to quell the cult war.
Cult-related activities are prevalent in the Calabar South area, causing sleepless nights for indigenes and residents.
In a telephone conversation with Daily Times, State Police Public Relations Officer, Hogan Bassey, confirmed the incident adding that the police were on the trail of the alleged killers.
Another group, identified as the ‘Idang Boys’, at the weekend, allegedly paraded the streets of Calabar with dangerous weapons, throwing a challenge to other suspected cult groups, it alleged, trespassed in their domain.
On Sunday night, suspected cult groups, identified as the Scorpions and Black Cats,engaged in a gun battle on Idang Street near Ibesikpo.
