The Body of late Prof Dora Akunyili arrives Nigeria

The body of  late Prof. Dora Akunyili was received by members of her family as well as the former Governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja

 

Her body, accompained by her husband Dr Chike Akunyili and younger brother Dr. Anayo Edemobi , was flown into Nigeria in a private jet and conveyed to a mortuary in Abuja in an Ambulance.

 

Speaking with newsmen, Peter Obi said burial plans for the late professor will begin immediately.

Chidiogo, one of the children of the late former Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Prof. Dora Akunyili, has described the final moments she spent with her mother.

The Economics and International Relations graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, United States, in a tribute to her mother said she was happy to have spent some quality time with her mum last week before her death. Chidiogo said during their discussion, she seized the moment to appreciate her mother for being an inspiration to her and her siblings.

Another sad news Veteran Nigerian actor,  Romanus Uchenna Amuta aka Natty from the popular Nigerian 80's comedy NEW MASQUERADE is dead. Romanus passed on early morning today. He had been suffering from partial paralysis which came as a result of stroke. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Prof. Dora Akunyili has passed on at Indian Hospital

The Former Director General of NAFDAC and former Minister of Information Prof. Dora Akunyili has died. She died 10am yesterday june 7th at the Indian hospital where she was taken to on May 11 to receive medical treatment after her health deteriorated.

Various reliable sources have confirmed her passing. She was only 59. So sad! May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

International artistes and MAMA performers, Miguel, Trey Songz, French Montana and beau, Khloe Kardashian and Marlon Wayans were also spotted at the airport.

Nigerian nominees including Don Jazzy, Davido, Flavour, Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, Phyno, Clarence Peters also arrived in the early hours of today.
