This afternoon July 25th there was a bomb explosion in Mogadishu, the Somali Capital . The massive explosion targeted Jazeera hotel close to UN compound, in Mogadishu. The source was a car laden with explosives. (left is what is left of the hotel). At least 6 people have been confirmed dead.

Yesterday a man named Jeremiah Ashang accused the Chief of Staff to Cross River state governor of assault (read Story here). The man accused has now released a statement explaining his side of the story

The Chief of Staff to Cross River State Governor, Martin Prim has decried allegations of assault made against him by one Jeremiah Ashang as a cocktail of lies. Orim said the entire account of the alleged assault as narrated by Ashang is riddled with half truths, contradictions and outright falsehood. 

He said this was a clear case of the aggressor playing the victim, saying it was Ashang and his gang who actually assaulted his driver.

At about 01.00Hrs on Saturday 18th July 2015, in Gramics Hotel along Obudu Ranch road in Cross River State, the Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Government (Martin Orim) orders his security aide to shoot me dead. This is my story. In the early hours of Saturday 18th July, 2015 at about 1am I returned to my hotel room from funeral at Igwo in Obudu and in my company was my cousin and his father. An unarmed black man, identified as Samuel Dubose has been shot and killed by a Police officer at a traffic stop after a confrontation on Sunday.

The Police officer who shot and killed 43 year old Samuel Dubose has been identified as Ray Tensing who stopped Dubose for driving without a license plate front.

According to the Cincinnati Police Department, “There was a struggle at the door with Mr. Dubose in the vehicle and the officer outside the vehicle, and the vehicle sped away,”
