BURNA BOY WINS THE RACE TO HEAD MTV’s OFFICIAL NAIJA TOP TEN

                

Look who’s the new kid on the number 1 spot! This week, Burna Boy displaces D’Banj at the head of this week’s MTV Official Naija Top 10 (powered by Star Music) with his exciting video, “Run My Race” toppling Dbanj’s “Don’t Tell Me Nonsense”.
Beat FM OAP Toolz cosies up to VJ Ehis (@SpecialSlim) on the distinctive #OfficialNaijaChart sofa for the 30th edition of the music chart, to run through the week’s ups and downs on the Naija music scene.
This week’s biggest climbers are Timaya and Illbliss who each move up one place to number 4 and number 9 respectively, with “Ekoloma Demba” and “I’m Sorry”.
Skuki, Olamide and Dr Sid all remain locked in the same positions as last week, while former number one “E Mi Ni Baller” by Chidinma stays in the number three position for the second week running.
On the downward slide are DJ Xclusive (down one place to number 5) and Dammy Krane now at number 10 with “Xteristics”.
Every week, the Official Naija Top 10 powered by Star Music is put together by an elite panel of judges comprising Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists and tastemakers, working with MTV Base to pick the winners and losers in the week’s chart.
On the panel are Onos Ovueraye (Bella Naija.com), DJ Humility (Rhythm FM), DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Xclusive (Cool FM), Big Time (Rhythm FM), DJ Caise (The Beat FM), Toolz (The Beat FM) and Osagie Alonge (Nigerian Entertainment Today).

This week’s Official Naija Top 10 premiered on MTV Base on NTA on Friday 27 September, and can be seen on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) onTuesday 1 October @22.00 WAT, on AIT on Tuesday 1 October @ 21.30 WAT, and on STV on Thursday 3 October @ 18.00 WAT. Next week’s chart will be revealed on Friday 4 October on NTA @ 23.30 WAT.
