Suspected Cult Clash In Calabar, Two Killed

Two unidentified boys were allegedly killed on Monday evening when rival cult members engaged in a supremacy war at Iboku near the popular Ambo Street in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, said the two died as a result of gun shots when policemen drafted to the area, arrived to quell the cult war.
Cult-related activities are prevalent in the Calabar South area, causing sleepless nights for indigenes and residents.
In a telephone conversation with Daily Times, State Police Public Relations Officer, Hogan Bassey, confirmed the incident adding that the police were on the trail of the alleged killers.
Another group, identified as the ‘Idang Boys’, at the weekend, allegedly paraded the streets of Calabar with dangerous weapons, throwing a challenge to other suspected cult groups, it alleged, trespassed in their domain.
On Sunday night, suspected cult groups, identified as the Scorpions and Black Cats,engaged in a gun battle on Idang Street near Ibesikpo.
